Dear casual employee,

While casuals will receive the same pay increase as permanent Allied and Nursing staff - a delayed increase of 0.7% on the last day of the current agreements - they were, however, excluded from a 1% lump sum payment late last year.

The new clerical collective, which will be voted on in late April, has the same restrictions.

Historically, casual employees working regular hours weren’t excluded from lump sum payments.

We're still negotiating with Waitemata DHB to try and get the lump sum paid to this group.

We're raising a claim in negotiations this year to ensure casuals aren't excluded again.

To do this we need your help by filling out this survey.

It will also help us identify how casuals are being used by DHBs and if it is undermining workers rights more generally.
