Occupation Pay Review

Dear Allied, Public Health, Technical and Scientific employee,

In addition to negotiating for a pay rise for all Allied, Public Health, Technical and Scientific, the PSA and District Health Boards are reviewing the pay scales of nine initial allied occupations:

• Anaesthetic Technicians,
• Clinical Dental Technicians,
• Dietitians,
• Health Protection Officer,
• Pharmacy Technicians,
• Psychotherapists,
• Specialist Physiotherapists,
• Sterile Supply Technicians, and
• Vision Hearing Testers.

Other occupations are welcome to fill out this survey.

This process is separate to collective bargaining and came about as a result of last years pay negotiations.

The union and DHBs agreed to:

“Consider if the existing salary scales and structure meets the needs for recruitment and retention, and appropriate starting salary based on qualification requirement, productivity, readiness to practice, extended scope of roles and recognition of relevant advanced qualifications” It was also agreed that in the first instance the ... occupational groups [listed above] will be considered..."

We have already collected information and are seeking final feedback, clarification and supporting evidence.

This survey will take up to 30 minutes and needs to be completed by Friday 24 April.
